Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using any Alfie the Owl app (each, an "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. If the App is being used by a child, the parent or legal guardian agrees to these terms on behalf of the child.

These Terms of Use act as the licensed application end user licence agreement (EULA) between you and Sentium Ltd, supplementing Apple's standard licensed application end user licence agreement that applies to all apps distributed through the App Store.

2. About us

The Apps are published by Sentium Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16512683, with a registered office at Suite Ra01, 195–197 Wood Street, London, England, E17 3NU.

3. Licence

Subject to these terms, Sentium Ltd grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the Apps on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use only, in line with the usage rules set out in the App Store Terms of Service.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Apps only for their intended purpose. You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any App
• Reproduce, distribute, or sell any content from an App
• Use the Apps for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to circumvent any subscription gating, in-app purchase mechanism, or other access controls
• Use any automated tool, script, or extraction technique to access or copy the Apps' content

5. Intellectual property

Alfie the Owl, the Alfie character, all illustrations, artwork, graphics, sounds, music, and other content in the Apps are the property of Sentium Ltd and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The puzzle illustrations in Alfie Puzzles were generated for Sentium Ltd using licensed AI image-generation tooling and the resulting artwork is owned by Sentium Ltd.

You may save and share your own coloured artwork or creations from the Apps for personal, non-commercial use. You may not commercially exploit any artwork, illustration, or other content that is part of the Apps' bundled library.

6. In-app purchases and subscriptions

Some Apps offer optional in-app purchases or subscriptions. Alfie Puzzles offers a single auto-renewing subscription, "Premium Monthly", priced at $1.99 USD per month (or local equivalent), with a seven-day free trial available to new subscribers.

All billing is handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's standard terms of service. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at the time of purchase confirmation. Subscriptions automatically renew at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel any subscription, and view your renewal date, in your device Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Sentium Ltd cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf.

The first three puzzles in each of the three packs (Simple, Exploring, Adventures) are free to play without any subscription. The Premium subscription unlocks the remaining puzzles in the bundled library and any new puzzles added in future updates of the App.

7. Refunds

Refunds for App Store purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple, not by Sentium Ltd. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with the Apple ID used for the purchase, find the App in your purchase history, and select "Report a Problem". Apple's refund policy applies.

8. Children's use

The Apps are designed for children aged 4 to 10. They contain no third-party advertising, no social or chat features, no friends list, no user-to-user content, no behavioural tracking, and no data collection. Any external link from within the Apps (such as a link to this page or to support resources) is gated behind a parental challenge to prevent a child from leaving the App accidentally.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise children's use of the Apps, including any decision to subscribe to a paid subscription. By accepting these terms, the parent or guardian represents that they have authority to do so on behalf of the child using the App.

9. Privacy

The Apps collect no personal data. For full details, see our privacy policy.

10. App Store and third-party beneficiary

You acknowledge that these Terms of Use are entered into between you and Sentium Ltd, and not with Apple Inc. Apple is not responsible for the Apps or their content. The maintenance and support of the Apps is the sole responsibility of Sentium Ltd. Apple is, however, a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.

In the event of any failure of an App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App (if any) to you. Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the Apps.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Apps are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sentium Ltd disclaims all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Apps will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sentium Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Apps. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation), nothing in these terms limits or excludes that liability.

13. Termination

These terms remain in effect for as long as you use the Apps. We may terminate this licence at any time if you breach these terms. On termination, you must stop using the Apps and may delete them from your device. The provisions covering intellectual property, disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law survive any termination.

14. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Apps after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

15. Export compliance

You may not download or use the Apps if you are located in, or are a citizen of, any country subject to a UK or US embargo, or if you are listed on any UK or US government list of restricted parties.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
