What ages is Alfie Puzzles for?

Alfie Puzzles is designed for children aged 4 to 10. The app is split into three packs — Simple (peach), Exploring (mint) and Adventures (lavender) — that grow with your child. Simple uses 6 large pieces by default and is right for ages 4 to 6; Exploring uses 12 pieces for around 6 to 8; Adventures uses 24 pieces for 8 to 10. You can adjust each pack's piece count in Settings.

How many puzzles does the app include?

150+ illustrated puzzles across 12 themes — animals, vehicles, professions, fairy tales, pirates, space, dinosaurs, food, seasons, homes & towns, sports, and around the world. New puzzles are added regularly. Three of each pack are free to try; the rest unlock with the Premium subscription.

How does the subscription work?

Tap any locked (👑) puzzle to see the paywall. New subscribers get a 7-day free trial, then it's $1.99 USD per month (auto-renewing). You can cancel any time in your iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions, with no cancellation fee. The first 9 puzzles (3 per pack) are free forever and never require a subscription.

How do I change how many pieces a puzzle has?

Tap the cog icon (top-right of the main screen) to open Settings. Under "Puzzle Pieces" you'll see three sliders — one per pack. Simple offers 4, 6 or 9 pieces; Exploring offers 9, 12 or 16; Adventures offers 16, 20, 24, 30 or 36. Changes apply to the next puzzle your child starts.

Can I turn off the faint background picture under the puzzle?

Yes. The "puzzle guide" — the soft picture under the board that helps younger children see where pieces go — is on by default. To turn it off, open Settings (cog icon) and switch off "Show Puzzle Guide". The guide setting applies to every difficulty.

Does Alfie Puzzles work without an internet connection?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once installed, every puzzle, sound and animation is bundled inside the app. No Wi-Fi needed — perfect for car journeys and flights.

How do I turn off the sounds or background music?

Accepted Answer

Open Settings (cog icon on the main screen). Under "Sound" you can toggle "Sound Effects" and "Background Music" independently. Both are on by default.

How do I restore a previous purchase?

Accepted Answer

Open the paywall (tap any premium puzzle, or the "Unlock all puzzles!" banner) and tap "Restore Purchases" near the bottom. Your active subscription will be re-applied to the Apple ID signed in on this device.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Accepted Answer

Cancel directly with Apple — Sentium can't cancel it on your behalf. On your iPhone or iPad: Settings → tap your name (top of Settings) → Subscriptions → Alfie Puzzles → Cancel Subscription. Your premium access stays active until the end of the current billing period.

Does Alfie Puzzles collect any data about my child?

Accepted Answer

No. The app does not collect any personal information, does not show ads, does not include third-party trackers or SDKs, and does not share any data with anyone. Everything is stored only on your child's device. See our privacy policy for the full statement.

Is Alfie Puzzles safe for children to use unsupervised?

Accepted Answer

Yes — it's built to App Store "Made for Kids" standards. There are no ads, no chat features, no behavioural tracking, no external links accessible without a parental gate, and no way for the app to take a payment without first showing the paywall (which itself sits behind a parental gate when accessed from settings).

Question 12

The app crashed or a puzzle won't load. What can I do?

Try in this order: (1) Close the app fully (swipe up from the bottom and flick Alfie Puzzles up). (2) Reopen the app. (3) Restart your iPhone or iPad. (4) Make sure you're on the latest version of iOS. (5) If it persists, delete and reinstall the app — your subscription will restore automatically when you tap "Restore Purchases". If none of that works, email us with your device model and iOS version and we'll dig in.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by Sentium. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with the same Apple ID, find Alfie Puzzles in your purchase history, and select "Report a Problem".
